Located in Kananaskis Country, the beautiful Rocky Mountains sprawl in the background surrounding the Lodge. Nakoda Lodge has lots great places for fantastic photos. We took advantage of a rough cut tree that was made into a chair for this gorgeous wedding bouquet photo.

Banff is an amazing place to get married with so many different options for your ceremony. If you opt to not have an outdoor wedding, St. Georges in the Pines is a quaint little Anglican church in the middle of Banff that is just perfect for smaller wedding ceremonies! This cool little church is over 120 years old is packed full of charm! It’s the perfect place to say “I do” surrounded by your closet friends and family.

If you are gettting married in the glorious Rocky Mountains, choose locations that are iconic and really show off just where you are! The ceremony site at Silvertip Resort in Canmore, Alberta is absolutely breathtaking with a panoramic view of the mountains on display behind you as you complete your wedding vows in an outdoor ceremony.

It’s no secret that I have a small obsession with ring shots. And well, it’s also becoming evident that I love photographing weddings and engagements in the Rocky Mountains. In the past few years, my love of Banff, Canmore and Lake Louise has grown and I am so excited to have the chance to photograph more weddings there! My most recent mountain wedding was at Chateau Lake Louise and I managed to combine a pretty awesome ring shot with showing off the beautiful location for our wedding that day.

A few weeks ago I found myself in Canmore photographing Julie & Adam in the mountains. We had first planned on an engagement session, but with super busy schedules, we couldn’t get to shoot until after their wedding in August, so we did an engagement-style post-wedding photo session in their fabulous wedding clothes. This is one of my favourite images from the session because at first glace it looks like they could be in nature anywhere, until you look closer and find the glorious Rocky Mountains in Canmore in the background. What a fantastic location for a wedding with a multitude of diverse backdrops! I’m looking forward to photographing many more weddings and engagement sessions in Canmore and Banff!! A few weeks ago I photographed a gorgeous wedding at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise in, you guessed it, Lake Louise, AB. The weather was cold and rainy for most of the day and I was fearing the worst as I drove in from Calgary. I admit that we suffered through the rain and the cold for awhile, but just as we were wrapping the creative session, the sun peeked out for a few moments and this glorious golden moment was captured in the Rocky Mountains!
